Get this brand while you can! : SimplyShred SG-832C Ultra Quiet Heavy-Duty 10-Sheet Smart JamStop Micro-Cut Paper Shredder (Security Level 4)
We bought this shredder about 3 months ago. My family and I are thrilled with it. Previously, I used a high-capacity Royal, but it was noisy! This shredder shreds paper and even lightweight cardboard and it's really quiet. My daughter says it sounds like a happy, very low "num-num-num" sound. It shreds credit cards, but not CDs.
The drawer (which has a plastic bag liner) holds more than my previous 26L shredder, because it shreds the pieces smaller. The plastic bag liner is reusable many times over. We're still on our first liner, so I feel it's good for the environment that the bag doesn't have to be changed. This makes great mulch to dump between our rose of sharon bushes on the side of the house to keep weeds down.
It hasn't given us any trouble at all. We do oil the intake occasionally. This is, by far, the best shredder we have had in our home.
